He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Kays and Opal Harris Kays; and his wife Barbara Sue Brown. He is survived by: his children, Kent Kays (Beverly Payne) of Richland, MO and Sherri Stephens (Joe) of Stoutland, MO; his grandchildren, Jillian Moore (Justin), Jake Stephens (Sylvia), Luke Kays, James Ely and Jody Candee (Bobby); and his great grandchildren, Gretchen, Gwen, Georgia Candee, Harper Sue, Hudson Moore, Ava and Emma Stephens.
