He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph "Jake" Garton and Grace Garton (Inman); his sisters, Roberta McGuire (Mac) and Dixie Reynolds (Bob); his great grandchild Grady Garton; and his son-in-law Leland Piper.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Ann Walker; his children, Steve Garton (Mary), Kathy Ledbetter, Laurie Piper, Tim Garton (Kathy), Brad Garton (Lesa), James Garton (Jinny), Mike Garton, Stacey Pearson (Paul), Bobby Smith (Gina) and Dallas Smith (Trish); his brothers, John Garton (Jan) and Rick Garton (Laura); and his friend Maya Horner. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
