He was predeceased by: his father Harold Kenneth Mooneyham; and his grandson Ethan Shields. He is survived by: his wife Joan Vincent Mooneyham; his mother Thelma Haworth Mooneyham; his aunt Imogene Haworth Pruitt; his siblings, Connie Mooneyham Barton, Kenny Mooneyham, Gary Mooneyham, Steve Mooneyham, Lonnie Mooneyham and Rosetta Schmidt; his stepchildren, Schrea Crawford Moorhouse (Dee), John C. Shields V and Matthew Shields (Jill); and his grandchildren, Brookes Holloway Fincher (Blake), Austin Holloway, John Shields VI, Fiona Shields, Olivia Shields, Andrew Shields, Keaton Shields and Dylan Shields. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Wounded Warriors.
