With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Thompson of Republic, Missouri, born in Clarinda, Iowa, who passed away on January 9, 2021 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Jean and Edna Ruth Thompson (Davison); his brother Charles Thompson; his daughter Marci Ann Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Cople Porterfield, Denny Porterfield and Louise Porterfield; his son-in-law Jim Rauhoff; his nephew Gilbert Porterfield; and his great-nephew Logan Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Porterfield; his children, Gregory (Melissa Thompson), Brett (Michelle Thompson) and Lori Rauhoff; his grandchildren, Alisa (Jeremy Green), Kylie Ledford, Brandon, Madison, Brianna Thompson and Lennon Rauhoff; his great grandchildren, Dallas, Danika, Daphne Eiberger, Kinley Thompson and Rylan Ledford; his stepgrandchildren, Lauren (Tyler Wallace), Dylan Rauhoff, Cassandra (Joey Rantz), Ryan (Kirsten Mease) and Zachary Mease; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Matthew, Madilyn Rantz, Kamreigh, River Mease and Maddox Haynes; and his siblings, Ron (Teresa Thompson), Shirley (Mike Warner) and Rinda (Kenny Gladman). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
