He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Austin and Alberta Austin; and his brother Samuel B. Austin. He is survived by: his wife Pattie Austin; his children, Alan Lee Austin (Crystal), Sarah and Valerie Austin; his grandchildren, Will, Claire and Sophie Austin; and his siblings, George H. Austin Jr., Joseph W. R. Austin and Judith V. Bradshaw (James). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
