He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar William Whitaker Sr. and Dixie Whitaker (Medley); his son David Wayne Whitaker; his brother Jay Lynn Whitaker (Carol Whitaker); his grandson William Dale Bishop; and his nephew Mark Whitaker.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Whitaker (Mein); his daughters, Cynthia Bearden (Mark) and Rhonda Schulte (Jim); his grandchildren, Kenneth Fritz, Faith Fritz, Chris Bishop (Catie), Kayla Schulte and James Schulte; and his niece Becky Whitaker (Ann Taylor). He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
