He was predeceased by: his parents, Beulah Pittenger (Dobbin) and Dean Pittenger; and his brothers, Billy Dean and Pete Pittenger. He is survived by: his wife Judy Freeman; his children, Robert Pittenger, Jon Pittenger (Cheryl), Tyler Pittenger (Chris) and Teresa Daleo (Mike); his grandchildren, Maddi Agatone, Samantha Deuter (Charles), Jacob Pittenger, Macy Bryan (Max), Anna Kate Morton (Austin), Joel Pittenger and Jessica Pittenger; and his great grandchildren, Mae Ella Morton and Luca Bryan.

A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Christ Community Church - Leawood Campus (14200 Kenneth Rd, Leawood, KS 66224).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in his memory to Christ Community Church.
