He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Spurgeon and Wynona Spurgeon; his former wife Sheila Waggoner; his wife Ruth Spurgeon; and his daughters, Melissa Eickleberry of Ft. Scott, Briana Spurgeon of Ft. Scott, Carissa Mack of Carlsbad and Rachelle Spurgeon of Raymore. He was also cherished by four grandsons, three granddaughters, and two great grandchildren.
