Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Dixie Fern (Emick) Durward of Raymore, Missouri, born in Clinton, Missouri, who passed away at the age of 84, on February 12, 2025. In the sacred silence of farewell, Dixie Fern is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Dixie Fern's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edna Lee O'Bannon and Kenneth Fern Emick; and her brothers, Kenneth Lee Emick and Michael David Emick. She is survived by: her husband Jim; her children, Shannon Fox, Erin Fox (Terry) and Kelly Durward (Andrea); and her sister Sheryl Helm. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM at the Dickey Funeral Home (2401 E Mechanic St, Harrisonville, MO 64701). A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Urich Cemetery (795 NW 1271 Rd, Urich, MO 64788).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
