She was predeceased by: her parents, Hester Floy Cowan (Colter) and Rose James; and her husband Miles Smith. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Brandy and Michael; her children, Wayne C. W. Smith, Mark Smith (Kimi), Loretta Bailey, Kerry, Mike Smith, Gary Smith (Donna), Brandy Mohrman (Eddie), Michael Smith and Trish; and her siblings, Aaron "Jimmy" Cowan and Darline Robbins. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren as well as many other family members and friends.
