He was predeceased by: his parents, Obal Carter and Alice Maxine Melton. He is survived by: his wife Karen Wells; his children, Angela Kassing (John) of Poplar Bluff, Sherri Joiner of Broseley, Jerry Odell Carter Jr. of Fisk and Travis Carter (Ashley) of Poplar Bluff; his siblings, Gary Leon Carter (Dee) of Poplar Bluff, Greg of Qulin, Kent Carter of Qulin, Joyce Webb (Stanley) of Rombauer and Linda Boshert of Astoria, OR; and his grandchildren, Truman Tyler Aldridge, Sarah, Emily, Zachary Joiner and Emersyn Carter.
