With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merdell Merna of Queen City, Missouri, who passed away on January 9, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Eugene and Sedy Merna Ferdig (Smith); and her siblings, Marvin Ferdig, Carol Nolan (George), Lillie Swearingin, Patsy Evans and Susan Holcomb.
She is survived by: her husband Richard of Queen City, Missouri; her children, William Bernand (Jessica) of Minnesota, Patrick Bernand of Queen City, Tamara Eason (Gordon) of Queen City and Pamela Hansen (Joseph) of Eloy, Arizona; her siblings, Martin Ferdig (Linda) of Queen City, Nancy McCallum of Lancaster, Charles Ferdig (Debra) of Lancaster, Carl Ferdig (Lynesa) of Purdin, Steve Ferdig (Katie) of Kahoka, Sandra Williams of Lancaster, Janet Shilling (Bill) of Bloomfield and Fred Ferdig of Lancaster, Missouri; and her siblings-in-law, Ruthie Ferdig of Ottumwa, Iowa and William Holcomb of Lancaster, Missouri. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Norman Funeral Home (402 W Washington St, Lancaster, MO 63548). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Glenwood Full Gospel Church (404 Main St, Glenwood, MO 63541).
