He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval Craig and Dorothy Craig of Nebraska; and his grandparents, Henry and Minnie Turpitt. He is survived by: his children, Irvin Turpitt Jr., David Turpitt Sr., Charles Turpitt Sr., Kathleen (Mark Hall), Christina (Fernando Pena), Christopher Turpitt Sr. and Tracy (Tony Young). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
