He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Brittain and Naomi Brittain; his siblings, Callie Marie, Joyce, Pete, Gene, Jerry Brittain and Debbie Rainwater; and his granddaughter Casey Jean Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Bettie Jean Miller; his children, Shelia Bowlin (Rick) of Broken Arrow, OK, Valerie Pierce (Todd) of Sikeston and J. Brittain, Jr. (Stacy) of Puxico, MO; his siblings, Pat Darnell, Barbara Smith, Shirley Deprow, Bullet Brittain, Glenda Gutterman and Bill Brittain; and his grandchildren, Jared Smith (Kori), Bridgett Stephenson (Sam), Canon Smith (Leslie), Joshua Pierce (Sindy) and Ethan Brittain. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
