He was predeceased by: his parents, John Foster and Clara Rice (Ireland). He is survived by: his wife Edna; and his daughters, Debbie Hardwick (Mark) of Purdy, Missouri, Cheryl Rice (Kathy VanHouden) of Purdy, Missouri and Joni Moore (Brett) of Purdy, Missouri. He is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations for John may be made to the Fair Haven Children's Home or the Arnhart Cemetery.
