He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wayne Noel and Effie L. Britton (Dickinson); his wife Georgianna Britton (Havens); his children, Terry Britton and Mary Beth Britton; his granddaughter Brittany Heerlein; his siblings, Donald Britton, Nelson Britton and Vivian Woodside; his brother-in-law Harvey Havens; his daughters, Barbara Heerlein of Lathrop, Donna Young (Dennis) of St. Joseph and Penny Childers (Ray) of Parkville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Beth Miller, Jason Deffenbaugh, Kelly Young (Kiley), Raymond Childers (Breanna) and Alison Denker (Dylan); his great grandchildren, Mackenzie Reyes (Adam), Ethan Miller, Emi Miller, Caroline Young, Jayce Young, Blake Deffenbaugh and Hailey Deffenbaugh; and his siblings, Jessie Frazier of Kansas City and Phillip Britton of Fort Worth, Texas. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Zion Cemetery or to the Donor's Choice.
