He was predeceased by: his parents, Conrad Gerke and Pearl Gerke (Overstake); and his former wife Jane Gerke (Neels). He is survived by: his wife Virginia May Hardesty; his children, Richard Gerke (Gina) of Waterloo, IA, Dennis Gerke (Jusan) of Waterloo, IA and Linda Twiss (Mark) of Cedar, MN; and his stepchildren, Danald Greer (Danelle) of Liberty, MO, Teena Giliberto (Michael) of Crest Hill, IL and Tara Greer of Lafayette, IN. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews and 5 nieces.
