He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Joice and Etta Hardcastle Joice; his parents-in-law, Tommy and Snowie Tackitt Spoon; and his siblings, Ernest, Charles, Helen, Dorothy and Mabel.

He is survived by: his wife Emilie Spoon; his children, Donald Joice Jr. (Rhonda) of Squires, Mary Sexton (Billy) of Caulfield, Bruce Joice (Linda) of Caulfield and Tina Mann (Gary) of West Plains, Missouri; his grandchildren, Melissa Dalton (Aaron), Jessica Joice (Clint), Bruce Joice Jr., Trista Hall (Byron), Cary Joice (Kyra), Emilie Brotherton (Jeremy), Donald Joice III (Hannah), Thomas Simpson (Jessica), Payton LaFevers, Aimee Morrison (Chris), Angela Walker (Fred), Billy Sexton (Keeley) and Nathan Mann (Brittiny); and his siblings, Earl Joice (Romana) and Stella Collins. He is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren.
