He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Melvin Vandergriff and Violet Alberta Vandergriff (Hedrick); his siblings, Shirley Vandergriff and Virgil Vandergriff; and his parents-in-law, Paul, Jetty Benson, Earl Lee, Brenda, Vernon Marler, Monk Coleman and Wendell Eye.
He is survived by: his wife Lana Benson; his children, Rhonda Lurkins (Kevin), Linda Vandergriff and Rev. David Vandergriff (Janie); his grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Andrew and Grace; his siblings, Vivian "Jeri" Lee and Larry Vandergriff (Phyllis); and his parents-in-law, Judy Vandergriff, Larry Benson, David Benson (Karen), Janice Coleman Eye, Jill DeClue (Pat), Jeff Benson (Tammy) and Chris Benson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
