He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlon Roy Thurman and Zelma Beauton "Maddox" Thurman; his brother Gene Thurman; and his brothers-in-law, David Lee and Thomas Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Coble; his children, Craig Thurman (Luanne) of Caswell, Cynthia Thoenen (Mark) of Jefferson City and Lonnie Ray Von Thurman Jr. (Fara) of Texarkana, Arkansas.; and his siblings, Peggy Reinbott (Curt) of Harviell, Sue Thurman Beller (Charles Carner) of Harviell, Joy Davis of Jonesboro, Arkansas., Jim Thurman (Violet) of Jonesboro and Roy Thurman (Rosalee) of Jonesboro, Arkansas.. He is also survived by six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
