He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Laws and Ida Laws (Vandergriff); and his son Eric Laws. He is survived by: his wife Freda Laws; his children, Wayne Laws, Larry Laws and Susan Laws Kurtz (Patrick); and his stepsons, Scott Ball (Emerald) and David Ball (Laura). He is also survived by siblings, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends.
