It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty J Hartzell of Potosi, Missouri, born in Cadet, Missouri, who passed away on August 28, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Hartzell and Hattie Hartzell (Boyer); her daughter Cathleen Marie Rekate; her sisters, Patricia Sue Hartzell and Alberta Hartzell; and her brothers-in-law, Verle and James.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Rekate (Kelly) of Pevely, James Rekate of Potosi and Wilma Jean Rekate of Potosi; her siblings, Roy Hartzell (Sharon) of Aurora, Illinois, Juanita Ormsby of Wisconsin and Sharon Smith (Ronald) of Arnold; her grandchildren, Bruce Rekate, Cathleen Rekate and Dakota Stroup; and her great grandchildren, Bruce Evan Rekate, Evelyn Rekate and Eleanor Rekate.
