He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Collins and Lucille Collins (Pendarvis); his siblings, Robert, Floyd Collins, Sylvia Collins and Goldie McCradic; and his grandson Steven Vaughn.

He is survived by: his wife Johanna; and his daughters, Karen Collins and Dorothy Ashbrook.
