He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar T. Howell and Vertris Wake Howell; and his son Oscar Leon Howell, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Howell; his daughter Linda Howell; and his sisters, Christine Collins, Rhonda Sinor and Laura Rosenbum. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
