It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jacob Maurice Hays of Pomona, Missouri, born in West Plains, Missouri, who passed away on October 2, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leavitt Hays and Gertrude Wentz Hays; and his brother Tom Hays. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hays; his children, Jacob Hays, Jr. (Jackie), James Hays (Jim), Erine Smith, Joseph Smith and William Stillwell (Travis); and his siblings, Martha Henderson, Mary Hays and John. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

“Pat and family, we were so sorry to learn of Jack's passing. I sure will miss seeing him drive behind our place on his ATV. He always had a wave and a smile. Jack was one of the first people I met when we moved her almost 14 years ago. I was walking past the house with my two big afghan hound dogs and he insisted I come 'round to the back to get some water for them (and to sit a spell). It was a really hot day. Pomona won't be the same without him. Keith and Connie Schachel”
