He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gillmore and Goldie Gillmore (Farmer); his son John Gillmore, Jr.; his brothers, Jiles Gillmore and Gary Gillmore; and his brothers-in-law, Donnie Rogers and Jack Watson.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Gillmore; his son Donald Gillmore; and his siblings, Lloyd Gillmore (Glenda), Bobby Gillmore and Clara Bell. He is also survived by his family and friends.
