She was predeceased by: her parents, David Crockett and Lucile Thomason (Crumbaugh); her spouse Kermit Henry Brownell May; and her son Bruce. She is survived by: her daughter Sylvia Brownell of Platte City; and her granddaughter Lauren "Ashley" Brownell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Verna's honor to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in St. Louis or the Platte City First Baptist Reaching Out Fund.
