He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvel Charles Hampton, Sr. and Barbara Hampton (Smith); and his siblings, Inez Eaton, Laverta Crow, Nellie Scaggs, Linda Scaggs, James Hampton and Elmer "Jack" Hampton.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Morrow Hackworth of Farmington; his sons, Darren Hampton of Troy and Matt Hampton of High Ridge; his sisters, Norma Gantzer of Ocala and Joyce Dellazizzo of Warner Robins, Georgia; his grandsons, Logan Hampton, Patrick Hackworth, Clayton Hackworth and Phillip Hackworth; and also Brandon Hackworth (Cassie) of Lake St.
