He is survived by : his wife Jeannette Gripka of Pierce City, MO; his daughters, Michelle "Shelly" Stellwagen (Bryan) of Pierce City, MO and Laura Apostol (Jay) of Monett, MO; his siblings, Edward Gripka (Pat) of Newalla, OK, Tom Gripka (Terri) of Pierce City, MO, Tim Gripka of Monett, MO, John Gripka of Pierce City, MO, Helen Eddingfield of Wentworth, MO, Betty Yale of Fayetteville, AR and Rita Cartmell of Wentworth, MO; his grandchildren, Christine Stellwagen, Abby, Jayden, Gabriella, Alexandra Apostol, Blake Tatsch and JJ Cavazos; his sister Dorothy Blinzler (Ronald); his siblings-in-law, Sheridan Eddingfield, Tom Cartmell and Glenda Hawkins (Joe); and his nephew Johnnie Lawson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A rosary was held on Sunday, June 23rd 2024 at 6:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (200 Front St, Pierce City, MO 65723). Visitation was held on Sunday, June 23rd 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School in care of the funeral home.
