He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton and Eunice Hicks Sr. (Aldrich); his wife Florence Balzell; and his siblings, Paul Hicks, Clecy Hicks, Irene Sutton, Grace Stuart and Wanda Jernigan.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Balzell (Mary Kay) of St. Augustine, FL, Charles Hicks (Debbie) of Paragould, AR, Clinton Hicks (Natalie) of Piedmont, Frank Hicks of Park Hills and Paul Hicks (Jennifer) of Piedmont; his grandchildren, Brenadette Hassell, Breanna Hicks, Taylor Hicks, Ashley Hicks, Jessica White (Adam), Rashelle Hicks, Clinton Hicks, Meagan Beezley (Chris), Jacqueline Balzell, Deric Paynter (Kasey) and Justin Balzell; and his close friend Alice Radford. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
