He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bohnert and Sarah Bohnert (Bohnert); and his siblings, Trula Huber, Melbourne, Robert, Harry and Linus Bohnert.

He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Bohnert (Fahad Aljarbou) of New York City, Joyce Soto (David) of Perryville, Lois Prost (Patrick) of Perryville, Colyn Wibbenmeyer (Kevin) of Sikeston, Tracy Prost (Thomas) of Perryville, Peggy Welker (Robert) of Perryville, Penny Schwent (Dale) of Schaumburg and Jaye Mier (Larry) of West Bend, Wisconsin; his close friend Sharon Baudendistel; and his sisters, Laura Bert of Perryville and Dorothy Otte of St. Louis. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul School.
