He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn McCauley (McCauley); his parents, Paul McBride and Ida McBride (Fleming); and his brothers, Tom and Ronnie McBride.

He is survived by: his sister Sandra Starr (Brad); his children, Lynn Blackwell (Jacob), Kim Martin (Gary), Rebecca Buchheit (Bruce) and Gregg McBride (Kirsta); his grandchildren, Jeremy Blackwell (Jaki), Ben Blackwell, Gary Martin Jr. (Kari), Michael Martin (Amanda), Jennifer Miller (Dustin), Amy Talarico (Tony), Jason Buchheit (Jessica), Sarah Norath (Alex), Abigail Stevens (Joshua), Michael Buchheit (Julia Heck), Sean and Heather McBride; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Mayci Blackwell, Tyler Ashby (McCadden Berkbigler), Sophia, Ashley, Stephen, Derek, Sadie Martin, Tysen, Falon Miller, Jozy Meyer, Liliana Talarico, Tucker Miller, Lucas, Kyle, Lane Buchheit and Ellyn; and his great great grandchild Beckett Ashby. He is also survived by four children, who then blessed them with grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ford & Young Funeral Home (110 S West St, Perryville, MO 63775). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials in Gerold's memory may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Journey Hospice.
