He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Abernathy and Mary Abernathy (Cox); and his siblings, Arlous, Ivan, Wallace, Paul Abernathy, Virgie Parrott, Velma Settlemoir and Alice Rubel.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Abernathy of Perryville and Daisy Vance (Daniel) of Jefferson City; his granddaughters, Rachel Sparlin (Josh) of Mission and Natalie Vance of Columbia; and his great grandchildren, Jace and Coraline Sparlin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or Crown Hospice.
