He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert McDowell and Mary Mabel McDowell (Layton); his son Arthur McDowell Jr. (Kathryn) of Perryville; his sisters, Monica Gibbar (Charles) of Perryville and Christine Hahn (Jack) of Perryville; his grandchildren, Aaron, Kristen McDowell and Melissa Geile; and his great grandchildren, Dalten, Kaydence French, Grant, Owen and Amelia Geile.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
