He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Ruby Eva Cook Hanners; and his siblings, Bobby and Gracie Mae Hanners. He is survived by: his wife Bird; his children, Mark Hanners of Patton, MO, Karla Warren (Dale) of Patton, MO and Karen Bryant (Terry) of Huntsville, Ala; and his brother Frank Hanners of Marble Hill, MO. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
