It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bertha Mae Nelson of Parma, Missouri, born in Catron, Missouri, who passed away on June 29, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Dawkins and Inora Littleton Nelson (John); her siblings, Ola Mae "Toosie" Nelson, Willie Johnson, John "Cracker" Nelson, Jr. and Alfred Crum; and her grandchildren, Denzel Rice, Antonio Johnson and Silven Rice.

She is survived by: her children, Victoria Johnson (Rosco) of Houston, Che, Nathaniel Jr. (Rice), Lee Othis Rice (Mary) of England, Robert Lee Rice (Joyce) of Little Rock and Samuel Rice; her sister Sandra Patton (Willie); and her grandsons, Martennis, Brian, Joshua, Matthews-Nelson and Karahzza Rice. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
