He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Wesley and Pearline Brotherton (Crites); and his siblings, Bill Brotherton, James Brotherton, Vernon Brotherton and Patsy Cureton.
He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Austin Grogan, Madeline Pickert and Allie Rae Pickert; his wife Mary Jane Brotherton (Taylor); his children, Sheldon "Pety" Brotherton (Pam) of Park Hills, Tina Grogan (Danny) of Patton, Vicki Lawson (Blaine) of Fredericktown and David Brotherton (Angie) of Marquand; his grandchildren, Kevin Hayman, Timmy Cook, Derek Hayman (Leah), Anna Dobyns, Chris Wood (Libby), Jodi Ely (Billy), Josh Grogan, Dusty Brotherton, Dajah Brotherton and Travis Brotherton; his great grandchildren, Dylan Hayman, Brylie Grogan, Koby Hayman, Shane Hayman (Kayla), Jordan Smith, Easton Wood, Lucas Hayman, Maggie Wood, Abbi Hanks, Jade Hayman, Ayden Hanks, Justin Hayman, Bryce Hanks, Dustin Brotherton, Aubree Brotherton, Colton Sarakas, Cora Ely, Caleb Pickert and Caleb Grogan Barron Cook; and his siblings, Jerry Brotherton (Beverly), Jeanie Viviano (Vito), Janet Shearrer (Craig), Brenda Sullivan (Herbert) and Helen Peeler.
