She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Dison and Jennie Canady Smith; her husband Earnest P. Payne; her daughter Caroline Riggsby; and her siblings, Elizabeth Burditt, Veva Burditt, Goldie Barnett, Dorothy Smith, Opal Smith, Alice Nelson, Eleanor Willing, Ivan, Kenneth, Robert and Wilburn Smith.
She is survived by: her son Earnest Stephen Payne of Panama. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
