He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Oleath Huffman and Sarah Jennie Huffman (Shepherd); his wife Donna D. Cooper; his daughter Rita Pauline Brown; his sister Bonnie Ruth Ratliff; his daughter Rebecca Ann Schmidt (Huffman); and his close friend Jean Harrison.

He is survived by: his daughter Jean McBride (Jim); his grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy (Patrick), Josie Durham (Kevin), Katrina Guthrie (Bill), Amanda McBride (Dwayne) and Seth McBride (Kayla); his great grandchildren, Bryce Webb, Kalli Gordanier (Logan Scholl), Lexie Gordanier, Masen Egbert, Deirdre Copaeman (Shiva), Logan Murphy, Madelyn Durham, Meredith Durham, Logan McBride and Maggie McBride; and his great great grandchild Leonardo Copaeman.
