He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmitt Powell and Lizzie Kroeger Powell; and his daughter Lisa Marie Powell. He is survived by: his children, Michelle Merkel (Jeff) of Palmyra, MO, Monica Bross (Kerry) of Palmyra, MO and John Powell (Amy) of Eldridge, IA; his grandchildren, Annslee Fahy (Brock), Landon Merkel, Shandi Long (Dustin), Jacob, Alex, Gracie Bross, Josh Day, Emma and Zachary Powell; his great grandchildren, Destiny and Bailey Long; and his siblings, Annie Young of Quincy, IL and Leo Powell (Judy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
