He was predeceased by: his parents, George "Albert" Henry and Pauline "Lillian" Peiter (Poppe); his wife Carol Faeth; his sisters, Vivian Drebes Donelson and Jane Schaefer; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Shelton, Marjorie Frankenbach Hillmann, Arlen Schade, Norman Drebes, Norman Shelton, Wendell Frankenbach, Ray Hillmann and Paul Donelson.
He is survived by: his children, Andrea King (Craig) of Taylor, MO, Robin Horstmeier (Matt) of O'Fallon, MO, Matt Peiter (Laura) of Rocheport, MO, Carrie Peiter of Columbia, MO and Amy Myers (Tim) of Palmyra, MO.; his grandchildren, Weston King, Candra King, Bryant Horstmeier, Brody Horstmeier, Evan Peiter and Landon Peiter; his stepgrandchildren, Tracy McAleer (Ryan) of LaVista, NE and Terri Miller (Zachary) of Novelty, MO.; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Callen McAleer, Rowen McAleer, Emlyn McAleer, Grant Parsons, Hannah Parsons and Kase Miller. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Luther Manor Nursing Center and Community Loving Care Hospice for the care and dedication they showed to Robert.
