He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Leland and Betty Ruth Duberry Yager; and his sister Denise Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Meri Yager of Palmyra, MO; his children, Gretchen Merris (Brian), Eric Yager, Heather Moore, Jennifer Yager, Luke Yager (Kathleen) and Missy Ruffino (Tony); his grandchildren, Eric Merris, Matthew Merris, Joshua Merris, Jeremiah Merris, Bailey Moore, Maddy Yager, Gabby Yager, Hannah Yager, Thomas Yager, Andrew Yager, Joseph Yager and Leo Ruffino; his great grandchild Jace Merris; his sister Teresa Lewis; and his cousin Nik Yager (Teresa).
