We are sad to announce that on September 9, 2021, at the age of 85, John Wilson Smith of Palmyra, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Lysander and Cora Pauline Harris Smith of Clapper, Missouri.; his siblings, Mike Smith, Ellis Smith, Dora Denise Smith and Terry Schaffer; his grandchildren, Dana Welch, Jeremy Smith and Ryan Smith; and his great grandchild Gavon Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smith; his children, Ronald Smith, Tammie Welch, Candy Minor, Dawn Smith and Melody Hughes (Jason); his siblings, Marjorie O'Donnell, Phyllis Foster, Rita Smith, Larry Smith, David Smith (Mary Lou) and Rose Smith; and his sister-in-law Pat Smith (Phyllis). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family asks donations to be sent to Northeast Old Thrashers of Shelbina, Community Loving Care Hospice or United Methodist Church of Monroe City instead of flowers.
