With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Dean Hansel of Palmyra, Missouri, who passed away on September 24, 2021 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Hansel and Elizabeth Lyons Hansel; and his daughter Melissa June Hansel. He is survived by: his daughters, Tracy Helenthal of Hannibal, MO and Pamela Mann (Bill) of Burlington, IA.; his stepson Jeffery Smith of Palmyra; his wife Barbara Hansel of Palmyra, MO; his sister Beth McConaghy (Jim) of Ohio; his stepsons, Wayne Smith of Hannibal, MO, Mike Smith (Michelle) of Greenville, TX and Jeffrey Smith; his great grandchildren, Randi Helenthal, Sierra Helenthal, Lacy Hutton, Laura Smith of Burlington, IA, MacKenna Smith of Burlington, IA., Jacob Smith of Keokuk, IA, Logan Smith of Greenville, TX., Madison Smith of Greenville, TX. and Ryder Smith of Greenville, TX.; his great-nephew Russel Westfall; and also, Brianna Barker of Keokuk, IA, Dallas Mann of Keokuk, IA and Emilia Hutton of Hannibal, MO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
