He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hicks and Viola Hicks (Byerley); and his siblings, Robert Hicks (Eva), Joy Ledbetter (Amos), Ruth Hermann (Fred) and Elsie Cudworth (Paul).

He is survived by: his wife Allene Hicks (Enloe); his daughters, Norma Ryan (Mike) and Debbie Burbee (Jerry); his grandchildren, Chris Ryan (Micahla Lovewell), Monte Ryan (Becky), Amy Posterick (Tyler), Michael Burbee (Kristen) and Joseph Burbee (Delaney); and his great grandchildren, Shannon Ryan, Benjamin Ryan, Ezekiel Burbee and Elena Burbee.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Adams Funeral Home and Crematory - Ozark (504 W Walnut St, Ozark, MO 65721). A burial was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804).
