He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Jeffrey Crawford (Margaret) of Ellisville, Gregory Crawford of St. Louis, Pamela Politte (Russell) of Rock Hill and Jennifer Politte of Rock Hill; and his brother Ronald Crawford of Richmond Heights. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church - Owensville Date (404 S 1st St, Owensville, MO 65066). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

“Dear buddy and school mate, God bless your soul. Kathy and Family, I sorrow with you at losing Sam. Sam and I were good friends throughout our years at Maplewood-Richmond Heights high school, graduating in 1959. We often walked home from school together. We enjoyed going to the River Des Peres and throwing thousands of rocks at any debris floating by (Sam had a VERY good pitching arm). Sam was so good-natured; easy to be friends with.
