He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Branson and Verna Branson (Hurst); his sister Barbara Diebal; and his niece Dawn Pohlmann. He is survived by: his sisters, Joyce Scheel (Leland) of Owensville and Sharon Pohlmann of Rhineland; and his brother-in-law Don Diebal of Hermann. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
