He is survived by: his parents, Earl A. Watkins and Frances Osterholt Watkins; his wife Diane; his son Matthew R. Watkins (Kate) of St. Louis, MO; and his sister Carolyn Spradling (Chester) of Branson, MO. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
