He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lewis and Helen Lucile Wood (Dietz); his wife Beverly Ruth Zeiler; his sisters, Mary Lee Wood and Jeraldine Acker; his siblings-in-law, C. Shepherd, Wilford Acker, Elmer, Ruth Zeiler and Donald (Leta Zeiler); his nieces, Katherine Acker and Beth Bray (Acker); and his nephew Timothy Shepherd.
He is survived by: his son Rodger Layne (Carolyn Wood) of Springfield, MO; his grandson Joe; his son Bill (Cynthia Wood) of Weaubleau, MO; his grandchildren, Johanna (Jamie Crump) of Springfield, MO, Joshua (LaTasha Wood) of Weaubleau, MO and Amanda (Jordan Lewton) of Wheatland, MO; his great grandchildren, Brynlee, Braelyn Wood of Weaubleau, MO, Reid and Rhett Lewton of Wheatland, MO.; and his siblings, Jane Shepherd of Bonner Springs, KS, Larry (Orene Wood) of Weaubleau, MO and Mike Wood of Wheatland, MO. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ozarks Honor Flight or the Goshen Primitive Baptist Church in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.
