He was predeceased by: his parents, John Klay and Gertrude Klay; and his siblings, Eldora, Annabelle, Reynold, John W. and Stanley.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia; and his son Chris. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and great and grand nieces.
